~The Past Few Months~

Wow time sure does it away from you. I can't believe it's already May. So many things have happened since my last post. We had Sadie's first B-day. She got to go to the beach for the 1st time. She has learned to walk/run now. She is just getting so big. She has tons of teeth and talks now stop (of course we can't understand her..lol). She growing up so fast. We are so thankful for her each and everyday. The month to come are going to be busy. Austin is graduation the 8th grade and Sadie will be taking her first camping trip and swim lessons.

Wow I can't believe that 2010 is now here. This last year has gone by so fast. We are hoping for another great year in 2010. We made sure we ate our black eyed peas for good luck. Here are a few pics from the last few months.

There are so many things that I'm thankful this year. My health,family,friends,job but most importantly my kids. They are the light of my life. They make me smile and laugh everyday. Life can't get any better then this!!

~Mexican Chicken Breast~

I didn't get a pic of this recipe, but I wish I would have. It was so yummy the whole family liked it. It's also so easy to make. This would also be good to make and just cut up the chicken and put in a salad.

1 pkg Taco Seasoning
4 (4oz) chicken breast
1 cup salsa
1/4 cup non-fat sour cream

Put chicken & taco seasoning in a plastic bag; shake and coat well. Place in baking pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake 30 mins at 375 degrees. Top with salsa bake another 5 mins. Top with sour cream.

~New Orleans Red Beans and Rice~

3/4 cup quick-cooking brown rice
1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 onion chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 (14 1/2 oz) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, oregano
1 ( 15 1/2 oz) can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

1. Prepare the rice according to the package directions, omitting the fat; keep warm

2. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over med-high heat. Add the celery, onion,bell pepper,garlic,chili powder,paprika,and cumin; cook stirring frequently, until the vegetables start to soften, about 5 mins. Add the tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, until slightly thickened, about 4 mins. Add the beans and simmer until heater through, about 2 mins. Serve with the rice.

~BT Chicken and Corn Chowder~

6 scallions sliced (keep white and green parts separate)
4 slices turkey bacon diced
3 cups fat-free milk
2 tablespoons flour
1 Yukon Gold potato peeled and diced (about 1 cup)
2 cups frozen corn kernels
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken breast
1 cup diced tomato

1. Spray a large nonstick saucepan with nonstick spray and set over med-high heat. Add the white parts of the scallions and the bacon. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the scallions are softened and the bacon is lightly browned, about 3 mins. Meanwhile, whisk the milk and flour in a bowl until blended.

2. Stir the milk mixture, potato,corn, thyme, and salt into the saucepan; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender , about 5 mins.

3. Stir in the chicken, half of the remaining scallions, and 1/2 cup of tomato's; heat through, about 2 mins. Serve the soup sprinkled with the remaining scallions and tomato.

This was very yummy and filling.

It's time again for me to get back on a diet. After having Sadie I just kept eatinf like normal. I never was one of those I'm eating for 2 when I was pregnant with her I just ate like I did before and only gained 10lbs. But since I've had her I've packed on 10 more lbs. So back on the band wagon I go. I've been doing it now for a little over 2 weeks and have lost almost 10lbs. I'm doing Weight Watchers because it worked for be before and I can still have those things I love. So I thought if I came along a yummy recipe I would share it with everyone. So you will see blog with yummy recipes that everyone will love.

So I sent the hubby to Target today to exchange our new Brita Water jug. The one we got last night was leaking all over our refrigerator..what a mess. Anyways I saw in the newspaper coupons this morning that they had a Target $4.00 off Schick Razors. Since I get 2 newspapers on Sunday I got 2 coupons. I also had some manufacturer coupons for the same item and since Target allows you to stack coupons we got this great deal. Target had these on sale this week for $6.99ea. So I got one and the hubby got one. He also got some baby wipes which I had a .50 off coupon. SO for all 3 of these it cost us just .70 cents. They really should have owed us .53 cents but they don't give money back and they told my husband they would have to charge him tax...hey I was happy...we got another great deal. I also had him to some pricing because I may have another great deal coming.

So Sadie and I headed over to Kmart for our last double coupon of the year. I really didn't have a plan this time. I thought I would just see kind of bargains I could get. Well this is that I got.

3 Huggies diapers $9.99 had 3 $1.50 off doubles to $3.00 (cashier didn't scan these coupons)
2 Wet Ones wipes $2.29 had 2 $1.00 off doubles to $2.00 final price .29ea
Axe shower Gel $4.49 had a $1.50 off doubled to $3.00 final price $1.49
L.A. Looks Hair Gel $2.19 had a $1.00 off doubled to $2.00 final price .19
Dawn Dish Soap $2.99 had a $1.00 off doubled to $2.00 final price .99
2 Rimmel Mascara $3.29 ea had 2 $2.00 off doubled to $3.29 final price FREE for both.

I also had 1 coupon for $5.00 if my total was over 50.00 which it was.

So my final price was $35.00. Which I thought was still really good. But what I didn't realize until I came home and was talking to my husband about it is that the cashier never used my 3 $1.50 off which would have been doubled to $3.00 off adding up to $9.00 off the diapers. So it would have been even cheaper then 35.00. I also had a fussy baby with me so I didn't get to add up my totals. Oh well...it was still a good deal!!

~Austin's 1st Concert~

Last week we took Austin to his very first concert. We went to see his fave group Green Day. James and I both also like the group. We all had a blast and I must say it was one of the best concerts I've been to. It was even better then New Kids. Austin was so excited he said he can't wait til they go on tour next year.

~5 MOnths Old~

So Sadie is now 5 months old and getting so big. We started her on cereal and we are now giving her stage 1 baby food. She loves her cereal and so far she loves bananas, sweet potatoes, pears and that's about it. She didn't care for applesauce,peaches, carrots or green beans. We will try those again later to see if she likes them. She is also moving all over the place. No crawling yet but she moves from her back to her tummy all the time...she makes all kinds of noises and laughs like crazy. She is a very good baby. I think she's easier now then she was as a newborn. She sleeps well at night and loves being around her brother, daddy and her doggies.

We had a great 4th of July. We spent it with some great friends and had a blast. Sadie was a really good girl and loved showing off her cute dress...well it was cute for about 15 mins (she spit up all over it..lol). It was a great day with great weather and good friends. Thanks Brook & Scott for having us over!!

~Some Gold Sox Fun~

As you know I like free things so when we got these free tickets to the Gold Sox game I couldn't pass that up. We ended up taking one of Austin's friends Blake and his sister Madison (I call her my BFF..lol). We had a great time and really enjoyed taking all of them. Sadie was very good and was even good when they did the fireworks. What was really neat was that Urijah Faber was there. Yeah I'm sure your like WHO? I was the same way but I guess he's some Mixed Martial Artist and former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight champion that a lot of people like. So they boys took their picture with him. We had a good time.

Today June 14th is my dad's b-day. He would have been 64 years old today. I miss him each and everyday. I wish he would have been able to see how much Austin has grown into a young man. I'll never forget that he use to call Austin "Houston" and "Conrad"..Houston was because I named him Austin and it's another state in Texas and Conrad because we lived in Germany when Austin was little. He was always coming up with silly things to say. I know he would have loved Sadie to pieces and I'm sure he would have had many names for her. He would have been very proud of the things I've gone in my life and the things I have accomplished. I know that he's in a better place and watching over us now. I see signs all the time that prove that. We love and miss you Dad and Grandpa!!

~One Year Ago~

It was one year ago on June 13th that I had my IUI. To me the number 13 is now my lucky number. We have been so blessed with Sadie. We thank God for her each and everyday, even when she's having a hard day. She keeps us on our toes and keeps us smiling each day. It amazes us each day how fast she's growing. We would be lost without her.

We took a trip to San Fran this month with the kids and had fun. We went to the Exploratorium and the Wax Museum. Austin loved the Exploratorium because of all the on hands things he got to do. We liked the Wax Museum also but Austin said it was "over priced"..lol. Sadie was very good and also enjoyed herself.

~Oh How Time Fly's~

Wow it's crazy how time fly's so fast. Sadie is now 2 months old and changing everyday. She now kicks her legs like crazy and smiles when ever you talk to her or say her name. We are working on getting her more tummy time which she doesn't really like. I go back to work on the 2nd of June. I'm going to miss spending time with her during the day but it will be nice getting back on track. Sadie has been such a blessing in our lives. It's been a bit hard getting use to having a little one again and all the things that come with it but, it's so worth it. Sadie is loved by so many people. We are so blessed to have all of our family and friends that love Sadie so much and we trust with 100%.

James and I started back up at the gym. It's been over a year since we last went. We are working with a trainer and learning how to get the best benefit from the gym. We are score at times but very happy.

We are also in the process of moving. My step-sister is buying a house and we are renting it from her. It's in East Marysville close to Austin's school. We are so excited and can't wait to set up Sadie's room. So many changes coming up but so worth it.

Every since James and I found out we had infertility issues I stated chatting on a message board called Daily Strength's. I love this site and the ladies that are on it. It has really helped me get through a lot of things. Having people dealing with the same thing your dealing with is a lot of help. So yesterday I saw this post and I wanted to share it because it really touched me. I feel really strong about it and how good god really is. I pray all the time that all my IF friends get BFP very soon. Here is the post.

I just want to share the AMAZING evening we had last night at our Bible study. We have been in this small group for almost 2 years now and they are like a second family to us now. Anyways... last night we had our group at one of the couple's houses and we had a guest come to speak. One of the couples in the group brought his mom's friend Ricky from Africa. Ricky is an evangelist whom they met at a revival last year in Florida. He is here for 6 weeks to share and preach, and spread the Word. Last night he shared his story and taught us so very much about allowing the Holy Spirit into our lives. As if God speaking to us through him wasn't enough, he also has done thousands of healings all over the world. Last night he laid hands on many of us and God truly was at work. Our friend Keith has been struggling with teeth problems over the past few months and has been in a lot of pain, and after Ricky laid hands on him, the pain was gone. Also, our friend Bob (who is retired from Harley Davidson and is the type of guy who tells it like he sees it and would definitely call it out if it wasn't true) has had numbness in his fingers on his left hand and has problems with limited mobility in his neck. After Ricky laid hands on him he just sat there in complete amazement because he could move his neck and feel his fingers!! God is GOOD!!

Now on to the really awesome part- yesterday I got my period, which at first was devastating to me, as it came 4 days early- which has NEVER happened to me. I was angry yesterday and very confused. Ricky asked to lay hands on DH and me, as he has laid hands on many people with infertility who have gotten pregnant right after. After he laid hands on me everything became clear and a sense of calm washed over me. I truly believe that I got my period early yesterday because God knew what was going to happen last night and this is the beginning of a new cycle- THE cycle that we will get pregnant! I KNOW that we will get our BFP in 27 days!!

Now- the even AWESOMER thing- (okay, I know that isn't a word, BUT!!)) After we closed in prayer my DH went and talked to Ricky about some things that have been heavy on his heart. He went back to work this morning after 7 weeks of layoff and was terrified of what he would face, as he drives a cement truck and works with very un-Christian like people. They talked for almost a half hour and God really worked through Ricky to touch DH. They talked about how Jim wasn't baptized, and how he needed to do that to really be full of the holy spirit. So, at 10:15 last night, we went out back to our friends' hot tub and DH, along with 3 other friends were all baptized- full emersion! I have never seen DH so happy (well, besides our wedding maybe!) It was just so incredibly amazing!!

GOD IS GOOD!!! Never have I believed that this type of thing was true- but I saw it and experienced it- and I BELIEVE!!!

I can't believe that Sadie is already 5 weeks old. She sure has gotten big. I really enjoy seeing her grow each day. We have been having issues with her formula and also the fact that she could have GERD. We are trying to find a formula that she won't vomit up and that still allows her to poop. It's been very hard on us seeing her in such pain to try and poop. It's a work in progress that we hope soon will be fixed. We love each and everyday that we get to spend with her.

Sadie is now 2 weeks old and getting so big. She's doing really good. Still doesn't latch on but I pump and also supplement with formula. She sleep good at night only waking up 2 times a night. Last night I made her sleep in her own crib and she did great. I was letting her sleep with me and she was loving that. I'm so busy during the day with her that the day goes by fast. She's so alert and looks around. She even moves her head around like crazy. She loves her daddy like crazy. He takes her and she a perfect angel. Austin also enjoys her and likes to feed her whenever he can. He calls her his little Tatar Tot. She is such a blessing to us all.

~St. Patrick's Day~

Happy St. Patrick's day everyone. I hope you all have your green on. So far Sadie is the only one wearing it today. This is also the 5 year anniversary of my Grandma Helen's passing. I can't even begin to tell you how much we miss her. Austin misses her like crazy and doesn't even like to celebrate this day at all. Her and Austin were very close and when she passed it broke his heart. Til this day I can't really talk about her in front of Austin because he just breaks down. I know that she is looking down on us each and everyday and is very pound of everything we have done in our lives. She was by far the best grandma ever that was always there for us. We will forever miss her and someday we will see her again. We just want her to know we love and miss her like crazy!!

~Sleep? What's That~

Sleep around this house for James and I has been very little. I think we both are so off track and are having a hard time getting back on. Monday night Sadie didn't want to sleep while we were still in the hospital so I didn't get any either which was hard because I had been up since Sunday morning. Tuesday night she just wanted to cry all night long. Wed night she slept ok but by this point I was already behind on many hours of sleep. Thurs night was again a bad night with little sleep. Again with Friday.I think the problem is that we are having a hard time getting her to latch on to the breast so it's been very frustrating for both her and me. We had to go to using formula and me pumping breast milk just so she can eat. I almost feel like a failure when it comes to breast feeding. I don't mind pumping just so she gets that good milk. The Dr. told us that we need to try to get her days and nights right. So starting tomorrow we are going try to keep her awake as much as we can. She also loves sleeping in our bed with us so we are going to try and get her to stay in her crib more. It's all a work in progress and will take time which we know. I will say the lack of sleep and everything else that's been crazy in our life the last week is 110% worth it and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. We love her like crazy and will take any challenge that comes our way. James was a wonderful husband and let me sleep in big time today. He took great care of Sadie while I caught up on some much needed rest. I'm also going to start napping when she does that way I'm not to tired.

~She's Here~

We checked into the hospital Sunday evening around 4:30pm. I was hoping it would a snap and she would be here. They checked me when I got there and I was still 1cm. Well the Dr. came in and checked me and I was 2cm and he broke my water. At about 5:30pm he started me on the meds. I wasn't really having contractions until later. I was about to talk to friends and laugh at jokes until about 1am. That's when they got really bad and I wasn't even really dilating. I think I was at 3cm then. What made it even worse is that I had heartburn on top of that. That's when I could no longer laugh or joke through them. At around 4am she asked me if I wanted drugs and I said yes. I knew when I went in that I was getting the Epidural but I could have some pains meds before if I wanted them. Well we skipped the pain meds and went straight for the Epidural. I got that about 5am. This whole time I didn't sleep at all. I felt great after that. The heartburn did get really bad and I got sick. A huge thanks to Keri and Adeline for cleaning me up and holding my barf bag. James was a mess and couldn't help me with that one. After I got sick I felt better. By the time the nurse checked me at 6am I was already 9 1/2cm. Labor and delivery got really busy around that time and she laughed and told me to hold on and don't push. I said don't worry this little girl will wait...she wanted this long. I started pushing and after 4 pushes Sadie came into the world. It was the best feeling in the world. She weighed 8lbs 14oz and is 20 inches long. James cut the cord even though he hate the site of blood and needles..lol. James has been a wonderful husband helped me the past few days..I'm very thankful for him. I'm trying to breast feed her but we are having issue with her latching on which is making it hard on me. I have had about 4 hours sleep since Sunday morning. So if this makes no sense please forgive me..lol. I just wanna say a huge thanks to my husband James for being the best husband ever. Thanks to Brook and Jaime for making me laugh til Keri got there. And a big thanks to Keri and Adeline for staying all night and helping me bring Sadie into the world. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. I can't wait to show her off. Again if this makes no sense I'm sorry...lol.

~It's Hospital Time~

In less then an hour we will be leaving to go to the hospital. I'm so excited and nervous all in one. We soon will be holding our long awaited little girl in our arms. Even better we will have the best Dr. delivering her.What more can we ask for. Soon Austin will be a bog brother, James will be a new daddy and I will be a 2 time mom. We have been so blessed and we can't thank God enough for everything he has given us. Next time I post it will be all about Sadie.

~Sadie Update~

I'm still only 1 cm dilated and my due date is March 8th. He doesn't want me to go over that so if she doesn't come by Sunday he's going to induce me. At least I know by next Monday she will be here. It's also kinda scary to be induced because I have never had to do that before. I just hope and pray that everything goes well and she is healthy. It feels so strange that sometime in the next week I'm going to be a mom again and James is going to be first time dad. I'm so excited. Please pray for us that everything goes well.

~Less then 10 Day's I Hope~

So we have less then 10 days...or at least I hope it's less then 10 days. I saw the Dr. Monday and I was only 1 cm dilated. Which as we all know is nothing. He did say that once I start to dilated it will be fast because of how my cervix looks. I was hoping for more then a 1...I know she will come when she wants to. I just wanna hold her now. I see him again on Monday. She's getting to the point now that she's being stubborn with the NST and U/S. She wasn't minding with the NST yesterday so they sent me to the U/S. She wouldn't breath for them so back down to NST I went and they called the Dr. and he wanted me hooked back up. After a big glass of ice water and a cup of apple juice and a little zap she moved around for a bit. She's stubborn just like her mom. So hopefully she will be here soon. We are more then ready for her.

I spent my Valentine's Day with the 2 men I love the most James and Austin. We had a great day. We all slept in (thanks to the dogs letting us) and then we went and saw a movie and then dinner. It was a really nice low key day. We all had a good time.

~Weekend Fun~

This past weekend was busy. Austin turned 13yrs old on Sat. We took him and a few friends to John's In Creatable Pizza in Roseville. We really like that place because the kids have a blast and the foods really good. Austin and his friends had a great time. It's hard to believe that my son turned 13. Do I feel old? Not really but he sure is growing up fast.

On Sunday we went to Sac to have another baby shower for Sadie. It was given by my family. It was very nice. I really enjoyed myself and enjoyed the family that was there. I got to see family that I haven't seen in years. It was nice and low key and the food was yummy. Thanks to my sister Tammy, my niece Leanne, Aunt Diane and Veena for a wonderful shower. Sadie got a lot of nice things. This girl is set. She has enough socks to last her a few years..that is if her food never grows...lol.

In 3 weeks she should be here. I had a Dr's appt yesterday and I'm still not dilated. I guess I was hoping I would be. I kinda wish she was here now. But I know I have to wait. My body hurts like crazy but it's all worth it.

~8 Years Ago~

It was 8 years ago last week that I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. Not a day goes bye that I don't think about him or see something that reminds me of him. It's hard losing someone that really is a huge part of your life. I know the pain he was going through and I'm thankful he no longer had to feel that pain. I know how proud he would be of me and the things I have done in the past 8 years. I'll never forget his smile,laugh,dry sense of humor and the stories he would always tell. We love and miss you dad!!

It's been a while so I thought I would update everyone on what's going on. I started my maternity leave yesterday and I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm already kinda bored. I feel like I'm playing hookie from work. I never miss work at, I only missed 2 days of work my whole pregnancy and that was because I got a cold. So it's kinda strange to be here at home knowing that everyone else is working. Don't get me wrong I like being home but it's just kinda boring. I know the dogs are loving me at home..now they get to stay inside all day if they want to. James and I already got everything ready for the baby. We did some deep house cleaning and washed all her clothes and packed all the bags. We are just now waiting til she gets here. So I have no baby things to do. Just regular everyday house things...although James doesn't let me do much of that either. I is nice to be home to cook a nice dinner each night and not be tired from work.

We started getting all her things out in the open. Her swing,bouncer,car seat. We want the animals to be able to get use to them being around the house so they don't freak out to bad when the time comes. It's really important that they know we still love them even though theirs someone new in the house.

I've been doing good. I now have Dr. appts every Monday, non stress test and Ultrasounds every Tues and another non stress test on Friday's. So I'm keeping busy during the week. I do get up about 10 times a night to pee and deal with heartburn which kinda sucks. I now have to be careful not to pee my pants whiling blowing my nose, sneezing or just plan standing there. I now know why old people wear depends and poses. But in all it's 100% worth it. We have a blessing from God that we are forever grateful for. We just can't wait to meet her.

So Saturday one of my co-workers and a friend gave me baby shower. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time. We played some very fun games and I couldn't stop laughing while watching them. I got some very nice gifts and I've forever thankful for them all. They are going to come in handy.

Family Time

So today we thought we would check out the new Theater and go see a movie. We went to see Marley & Me. What a great movie it makes you laugh and cry. Now I cried and I cried some more (a little thing called hormones..lo.). This movie showed what having a dog is all about. Our dogs and cat are like our kids. We love them and would be lost without them..although they eat way to much, dig holes way to much and drive us nuts way to much...we still love them with all our hearts. This a must see movie. It will make you wanna come home and hug and kiss your pet.

~30 Weeks~

I'm now into my 30th week...wow it seems like the time has gone by fast. Now I'm going to the Dr.'s every 2 weeks. He's also having me do non stress testing twice a week and AFI Ultrasounds once a week til I give birth. A non stress is where they hook you up to the fetal monitor and check her heartbeat..the AFI Ultrasound is where they check the fluids around her. This is all because I have history of high blood pressure which is controlled by meds. It kinda makes me feel better knowing that if anything goes wrong it can be caught in time...it's also scary. She was being her stubborn self and it took her a while to get going....she was sleeping..so they gave me water to drink and she woke right up. They said from the U/S that she weights about 4lbs...kinda also freaky considering I have still almost 10 weeks to go. Right now she is breach and moves any way she wants. Whenever they do a U/S she has to move which make sit hard to see her.

Christmas was so great this year. We spent Christmas Eve morning at home opening up our presents. I was very happy with mine. James got me the new Canon Powershot SD790 Elph. I've been wanting a new camera forever and I finally got one. I was very impressed with it. Austin got everything he wanted and so did James.

We spent Christmas Eve evening at my Aunt and Uncles house. We have done this for as long as I can remember. I love it because it's so low key and mt Aunt makes a simple dinner nothing fancy. Every year for about 16yrs my Aunt and Uncle dress up as Mr. & Mrs. Claus and give gifts to the kids. They kids love it and they love doing it. It never gets old. They are both retired and my uncle has Parkinson Disease so for them to keep doing it is amazing. My Uncle also likes to take the video camera around and record everyone so we got to watch very old videos of the past Christmas Eve's. It was nice seeing my Dad & Grandma in a few...we sure do miss them.

Snow Fun

So yesterday we decided to go to the snow. He went up to Donnor Summit with has a snow park. It's only cost $5.00 to park. We had tons of fun. But we were very cold. They boys played on the sleds and I just watched and took pics. We even had some nice hot chocolate which was nice and hot and very yummy. We wanted to go to a playland area which had some bigger slopes to go down and really nice tubes..but it closed at 3pm and it was already 1:30pm when we got there. So we didn't want to waste the money renting the tubes for only a little bit of fun. Overall we had a great time and lots of fun.

So today was our 3D Ultrasound..it was really neat but Sadie was being a little pest and wouldn't really let us see her. It was almost like she was laughing at us. We got a few good pics and a bunch of alien looking pics. They said she looks about 3 lbs...it also looked her head was huge and she had Flintstones feet. They said her spine looked great. The umbilical cord was everywhere...she even had it by her chin. Everything looked good and we were happy to see her. She really loved to move her hands around...she was moving them like crazy.

This is the 2nd year in a row that we cut our tree down. It was soo much fun. We headed up to LaPorte on Sat morning to cut it down. We did this last year with the same set of friends. Only last year we found lost of snow. So this year was kinda strange when we saw no snow. The kids were a little bummed but still had fun. I let James and Austin pick out the tree because I was in no mood to hike to get my tree. I had to pee soooo bad and I was not going to pee in the woods..lol. So I just relaxed with the other people. Austin and James picked out a great tree. Austin even helped cut it down this year. We got home just in time to head to the Parade. What a great way to end the night. Here are a few pics...

Sadie Update

We had another Dr.'s appt today and everything is going great. She has a strong heartbeat and is kicking like crazy. James can now feel her and he's just amazed at how it feels. I now only have about 96 days to go. I can't wait til she gets here and my sleepless nights begin. It's going to be all worth it.

maniac in my tummy...Let me tell you this little girl goes crazy in my tummy. It feels wonderful to have her moving around in my tummy. Let me just say when she wants to me go to the restroom she means NOW...not 10 mins later. I love to lay in bed at night and feel her. I'm hoping James will be able to feel it soon. I can feel her but I want him to feel my tummy and see if he can feel what I feel. So also loves when I eat..she moves like crazy. I've only gained 5 lbs which is wonderful considering I'm already overweight. That just means she's eating everything I am. I'm also not one that says "I'm eating for 2". I eat like I normally do...sometimes I do get hungry later but I think it's because she has eaten everything and not saved me any..lol.

We have a 3D Ultrasound on Dec. 19th. We both can't wait.

Just a little update on baby Sadie. She's doing great and has a great heartbeat. All my test so far have been coming back great. I've been feeling great. My headaches in my neck have been doing way better. I only have one every now and then instead of every other day. I can feel her move a little...sometimes I still have to ask myself was that her or my tummy making noise. My next appt is Dec 1st. Sadie will be here before we know it and trust me we can't wait. We wanna hold her now.

So last night was the long awaited New Kids concert. We had a blast. It was well worth the $90.00 per ticket to see them. The opening act was Lady GaGa. I had never heard of her before. She was ok. Then Natasha Bedingfield, she was really good. I liked her show. Then cam our men of the hour..or should I say a few hours. People went crazy when the lights went out. I must say they did a great job. They all sounded good except Jordan Knight. It was almost like he was trying to sing like he did 15 years ago. I was not impressed with him..but then again my friend Abby whom had front row seats and got a meet and greet with them said he was cocky...she said he acted like he was better then everyone else. So I think that's why he bugged me the whole night. Donnie and Danny were looking HOT. I had a blast and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I'm now 17 weeks along and feeling really good. Besides a few headaches that are in my neck area I've been doing good. My husband tells me I have a nose of a dog because I can smell anything and most things stink to me. I'm getting excited as time goes by. Before we know it James and I will be parents. yeah I've been down this road before but he never has. It's going to be neat seeing him with the baby. He's great with Austin but I've never seen him with a baby...it should be interesting. I know he's going to be a great dad that already says our kid is going to eat every vegetable around..(I don't really like veggies). We plan on moving from this little duplex before the baby is born but we may have to wait til after...we have to save up some money first.

We already started our Christmas shopping. I'd rather get it done early so it's out of the way. We have just a few people left and of course Austin. I'm hoping to have it all done by Nov. We will see.

Austin is doing great in school so far. He took his school pics and I think it's the best pic he has ever taken. He doesn't have that fake smile like he always dose.

I thought I would update everyone on what's going on around here. We have been busy these days. Austin started back to school in the middle of Aug. He's now in the 7th grade and really like all his classes. He's taking a leadership class this year which I think he'll do great in. He's also taking Algebra which he kinda likes but he scored so high on his test that he should be in that class. We think he's worried about not getting a A in the class. So far he's doing great in the class. James and I have been busy with work and enjoying our weekends together. We seem to always have something going on each weekend. I love the weekends when we just stay home and do nothing. We are also getting things ready little by little for the baby. I've been feeling great other then having some headaches and some tension in my neck which gives me the worse headache ever. I'm working on trying not to let that happen. I've been feeling great and the baby is grown well. We are hoping to find out the sex at the end of Oct. I'm 15 weeks along. And I have many more to go. James turns 30 tomorrow..I'm not to sure he's happy about that..lol. But then again we all get old sometime in life. Well that about it...I guess I should have said a long upate instead of a little.

We have 2 dogs which we love like crazy. They sometimes don't listen and sometimes get in everything but we still love them. Here are some pics of them. I'm now 13 and half weeks. Wow I have a lone time to go. But to be honest time has been flying way for me. I had another OB appoint today and everything is going good. We got to hear a strong,healthy heartbeat. I've been having really bad headaches which would be cause from my Dr. taking me off one of my B/P pills. So he now wants me to take the one I'm taking now 3 times instead of 2 times a day. I sure hope it works because they headaches suck. We are hoping to find out the sex of the baby at the end of Oct. We can't wait. I know that March is a long time away but it will be here before we know it.

On Sat. evening I started feeling a little under the weather. I knew it wasn't a cold but it had to be allergies. Well being pregnant you really can't take many meds. So I've had to suffer for the past few days. I missed work on Monday but went on Tues which was a mistake because I was like a zombie. I also missed work Wed just so I could get better by resting. I still have a bit of the allergies but I feel way better. Austin is also dealing with the same thing. I can't wait to feel 100% better.

So yesterday when I got home from work our AC went out. Talk about wanting to go crazy. Our landlord came over right away. He worked on it for a few hours and thought he had fixed it...but we were wrong. It was 87 degrees all night in the house. We had to sleep with all the windows open something we don't do often. It was not a good night for any of us. I could sleep and my stomach was hurting all night. We called him this morning and told him that he had to be fixed today that we didn't want another sleepless hot night. Well let's just say it works great now. I guess he had to call a AC guy to come and fixed it. We didn't stick around to deal with the heat..we went to Sunsplash to keep cool. We had tons of fun. Although I couldn't go on any of the slides which I love to do I just settled for the lazy river and people watching all day. It was a nice cool day. We are all very tired and ready to sleep all night long.

So they got back together and are now on tour..and guess who's going to see them..yeah ME...I'm so excited I can't wait. I know that sounds soo silly but I seen them once and had a blast. Our Little Gummy Bear

So today was our first U/S and I must say we both were excited as can be. I was just hoping to see the heartbeat and see that everything was ok. Words can't begin to describe the happiness that both James and I have right now. We have one little tiny gummy bear. I was very happy with that. The Dr. said everything look great. We also heard the heartbeat which was 153 beats per min. It was so neat. He even gave us pics of our tiny gummy bear. We still don't wanna know the sex which I know is going to be hard and I'm sure we both will be tempted to find out but we both want the excitement of not knowing also. Our Dr. was telling us that this past month he has had a lot of women take clomid for the first time and get pregnant the first time. What a blessing. God sure does watch over us. After I got dressed James and I were coming out of the room and the whole staff was standing there clapping for us and telling us con grads...that was so sweet. The Dr. gave both of us a huge hug. I'm so happy that god has blessed James and I with this wonderful chance at being parents
together.

A Trip Down Memory Lane......

My step mom was kind enough to give me a box today with some of my dad's things in it. Anyone that knew my dad knows that he kept everything anyone ever gave. I came across some really neat things. A lot of high school things and really old papers. I was looking threw it and tears being to roll down my cheeks. I miss him so much. I know it's been over 7 yrs but it feels almost like it was just yesterday. I enjoyed looking at it all. There were lots of cards that people sent and as I sat there reading them I realized what a wonderful dad I had and how everyone that knew him loved him for the person he was. He was such a easy going man that just wanted to make people happy.I thought about passing these things on to my brother. I know he would really like them. I miss my dad each and every dad.

Sooo I thought AF was coming and just knew for sure she was. I was having some spotting on Monday which I thought was AF coming. That's what she does. Well after Monday morning I didn't see anymore blood. I told myself that if AF doesn't come by Sat I'll test. Well she didn't come so I tested Sat morning. I got up and took it with the 1st morning pee. I was shocked when it was a BFP...I was soo shocked I took the other test just to make sure and that also was a BFP...so I had my blood drawn and my levels where 324.5..I was very happy. I'm so happy that god has given us this chance..I'm thankful for the miracle he has given us. Thanks again to everyone for all their prayers!!

So today I took my Phletbotomy State Exam and I passed. I was sooo nervous I couldn't stop shaking. But I did it and I'm so happy it's over...now I can finsih my book I was reading before the class started and I can start scrapbooking.

Yup that's right AF come today or at least she's starting to. So all the symptoms I've been having are the results of her coming. This is very painful to expect and deal with. James and I wanted nothing more then to have a little baby. I thought I had a 99% chance of this happening. Well I was wrong..I must have been the 1% chance. I didn't even know what to think this morning when she came. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. If one more person tells me that it's going happen "next time" I so will scream. These are people that have never dealt with infertility problems. I'm now back to the point where I'm blaming myself for me not get pregnant. I blame my weight the most. If I wasn't so overweight maybe it would happen for us. We won't try again til Sept just so we can save up again. I don't even know if I should use the same donor or pick another one. I have no clue what to do now. I know one thing I'm going to try to lose as much weight between now and then.

Side Effects or Symptoms???

So have you ever taken some meds and read the side effects??? I think we all have at one point in our lives. By looking at them you say "oh yeah I have or have had that side effect". That's how I feel right now. I feel so many effects right now I don't even know what to think. I have a little cramping almost like AF is coming and then also I've felt like I was going to throw up yesterday for just a few mins. I also have tender breast..well not really breast but nipples..(sorry for TWI). I never recall having tender nipples when I'm about to start AF..but who knows. Also I've noticed my pee is a neon yellow color and that's even with tons of water in me. Which is clear whenever I drink lost of water. I don't know what to think. I just know that Sat can't get here fast enough. I almost lost in this past Sat and tested. I so could have because I have a test left but I didn't. I just feel I would be less hurt if AF came verses taking a test before it's time to test and getting a BFN. So we will see.

Still hanging in

So I'm still hanging in there. It's been ok dealing with this 2ww. I'm sure next week will drag and I will go crazy. So far I'm still feeling ok but having a few AF symptoms. But I was told that may happen. We are holding out hope that God will bless us. If AF doesn't come by next Sat morning I'm going to take a HPT. I've been buying a few baby things here and there for a while. We have under 10 things but it feels really go to buy them. I saw some clearance things today and grabbed them up. I know I may be setting myself for heartache but I still do it. Austin keeps asking "when am I going to find out if I'm going to have a little brother or sister". We keep telling him in a few weeks. I asked him that if we do get PG if he's going to be in the delivery room and he said "noway I may pass out". I laughed. I'm hoping if that time comes for us he will change his mind. I want him as much as involved as he can be.

I've been feeling ok. I kinda have some cramping going on but that's about it. I feel tired but then again so much has been going on for me the past few weeks that I think I'm burnt out. I kinda feel like I have a score throat. But I'm also not sure if I starched my throat when I was eating taco salad for dinner. I sure hope I'm not getting sick.

I'm still taking the Phlebotomy class. I'm almost done. I just have Ch 3 test which I plan on taking tomorrow and I still have the online part, lecture and the state board. I also have a few more draws to do. So about 2 more weeks and we should be all done.

James will be celebrating his 1st Father's day. He kinda already does as Austin's step dad but I know how much he wants to have a little one of his own. I keep praying that it's going to happen. I have to have faith and hope.

Today my dad would have been 63 years old. As most of you know he passed away 7 years ago from cancer. I miss him so much each and everyday. I know that he would be really pound of me and how my life has turned out. He was a easy going man that never really let anything get to him. I know it was his time to go but it also was to soon for us. Austin was only 5 years old, but he still has memories of his grandpa. My dad always had a different name for Austin...he would either call him Houston and Dallas...reason being because I named him Austin and that was a city in Texas and then when we moved to Germany he called him Conrad. I'll never forget the weeks I spent with him before his passing. They were the best weeks ever. Dad I hope you have the best birthday ever...we love and miss you bunches. Hugs and kisses!!

Things Went Smooth

So today was our big day. We got to your appointment a little early. Our appointment was at 11am but we didn't get back to see the Dr. til about 11:40am. Talk about having butterflies in my tummy...not to mention we both where very hungry. So we get back there and the Dr. comes in and shows us the results for the washing of the specimen. Before washing it was 25m and after the washing it was 18m...the Dr. was happy with and so was I. It hurt just a little...not really pain but cramping. It took him a few sec to get it in the cervix but he got it. It kinda felt strange..almost like having my HSG test done. After it was all done we left. He said we can take a home PG test in 14 days if Aunt Flo doesn't come. So please keep us in your prayers the nest 2 weeks that we will have our miracle.

On our way home we stopped at Panda Express to have some lunch. As I went to open my fortune cookies I really had good vibes about it. I knew it was going to be a good one. It read the following "Soon you will receive pleasant news" I just wanted to bust out crying. I know that was a sign from god! Well I'm off to rest. Thanks again for all your prayers.

It's A Goooooooo

So Friday the 13th is a go for IUI. I went in today for my 2nd U/S and he said I had 3 really good follicles. On the right side he found 3 there are 17x18,19x16 and 16x12. He said the 16x12 one isn't as big as he would like so that one may not work. On the left side I have 1 and it was 22x17. He seemed to be really happy with it and so was I. So tonight I take my HCG shot at 11pm. I was a little worried about taking this shot because the needle was huge but, the nurse told me today that the needle was just used to draw it up..I inject with the smaller need. Praise God. So I'm going to be brave and do it myself. But thanks Sarah for offering to help. So tonight is 1cc of HCG and then on the 14th and the 17th I take 1/2cc. I'm going to have James give me one of those, just so he can really feel involved. So Friday at 11am please say as many prayers as you can because that's when I hope our miracle happens. The 2 weeks after are going to be really hard. But if I waited this long I can wait another 2 weeks.

So I got my HCG shot today via Fedex. It's cool because it came with everything thing I need to give myself the shot. The only thing is it didn't tell me where to give it to myself. I looked online and it seems like it would be in the stomach. I also read that some people but ice on the area before doing it. I guess the Dr. will tell me when and where tomorrow. I go back for my 2nd U/S tomorrow. I'm excited about it. I just need everyone to keep praying for us. We need all we can get. I was looking at the needle and it's huge. I was like I'm sticking that in me? I'm sure once I get over the nervous part I can give myself the shot..we will have to see.

Every since Tues evening I've been waiting for e-mail back from the company that we got or donor from. I was getting kinda nervous because I want it sent out June 10th so we can make sure it's here by Thursday. Well as of this morning I still had no response from my e-mail so I called. I have been emailing this lady for a few months now. She never everything that was going on. So I call and ask for her and they inform me she's no longer working there...talk about wanting to go crazy. But after a few phone calls back and fourth with the company everything is in place. It will be shipped to my Dr's office. I'm so happy about all this.

I have these huge butterflies. I'm not sure if it's because we are getting so close or because I'm taking the Phlebotomy class and I'm nervous about drawing blood. I have 50 draws to do and so far I've done 16. It's not to bad but I have my bad days..like yesterday was a hard one...all mine had little viens or none...but today was better. I jsut get butterflies. It will all work out.

The Ball is Now Rolling

So today was my 1st Ultrasound. I was really nervouse. But things went great. I was in and out. The U/S went great. The Dr. said that everything looked good and my ovaries looked great. I was very happy. I started Clomid tonight (please pray that my mood swings don't get to bad) I will be taking that for 5 days and then I got back for my 2nd U/S on June 11th. He's looking at doing the IUI on June 13th..yes Friday the 13th. I was like WHAT...it's funny because James and I were talking about if it was going to be that day. I was kinda hoping for June 14th because that's my dad's b-day and It's been 7 years since he passed on. But I'm ok with the 13th..plus the Dr. told me that was his lucky day...I sure hope he's right. I have so many mixed emotions right now. I'm soo happy but yet so scared. This is really happening. Soooo Excited...But Yet So Scared

So tomorrow I have my first ultrasound done. They call it a baseline. It's exciting that's it's really happening. I have been waiting for this time to come forever. So within 2 weeks we should be doing out IUI. My appointment is at 3pm so whenever I get home I'll update more.

Another Season of Baseball is Over

Austin's baseball season has come to an end. I so wanted to cry tonight. He no longer will be able to play for Little League. He has to move up to Jrs. So he's taking a few years off. I loves to play and I love watching him. This was his best year yet. Here are a few pics. I'll add more later.

I Passed...wooohooo

So I took the first Phlebotomy Test today and I passed. My score was good..I wish it was a little better but I'm happy with it. After the test we practiced on the dummy arm and that was harder then I thought. I felt like it wasn't in the vein the right way. I didn't want to do a human yet but all the girls kept telling me you can do it, so I did...I had butterflies the whole time. I did pretty good job. I only did 2 but it's a start. So Monday we will do more people that work in the lab then we will stat on out patients. It should be fun!!

Reading, Reading and more Reading

I've been reading non stop since Tues. I'm taking a Phlebotomy Class and so far it's been really cool. But a lot of reading. I can't wait til we start drawing labs. No wait I can I'm nervous!!

Just a relaxing Weekend

We just spent the weekend at home doing nothing. Well Sat. night we did go tot he races. BUt other then that we just stayed home. It was nice. We did house work and I even got to read more of my book. We also watched some good movies. The best part was making a new recipe. James and I love watching the Food Network Channel. Well Guy's Big Bite is one of our fave shows. So we saw this recipe that looked very good and we wanted to try it. So we did and let me tell you it was sooo good. Now it wasn't diet friendly but I'm sure you could make it diet friendly. Let's say it was sooo good we are going to make it again. We also thought it would be very good served cold. So here it is the recipe....try it I'm sure you'll love it.

Goody Girl Championship Potatoes

1 package dry form crab boil (recommended: Zatarain's)
3 pounds red potatoes
1 pound thick-cut bacon, diced
1 cup diced red onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 pound butter, at room temperature
1/4 pound finely shredded Cheddar
1 green onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper
3/4 cup sour cream

Fill a 6-quart pot 2/3 full of water; add the crab boil and mix until blended. Cut the potatoes in half and slice into 3/8-inch thick pieces. (This can be done ahead of time; cover the potatoes with ice water until ready to cook.) Add the potatoes to the pot. Bring water to a boil and cook the potatoes until fork-tender.
While the potatoes are cooking: in a medium saute pan on medium heat, cook bacon until crispy; remove and drain on a paper towel. Add red onion to bacon grease; cook until caramelized. Just before onions are done, add garlic and cook until lightly brown.

In a bowl, place butter, 1/2 the cheese, 1/2 the bacon bits, 1/2 the green onions, the cooked red onions and garlic, cayenne, paprika, salt, pepper, and sour cream; mix together thoroughly.

Strain potatoes and add to bowl; let stand for a few minutes or until cheese starts to melt. Fold ingredients together, trying not to break up the potatoes excessively. Top with remaining cheese, bacon, and green onions.

Check seasonings and adjust to taste.

Trying really hard

I've been really trying hard to lose some weight. I did Weight Watchers many years ago and it really worked. So I thought why not try again. So far I'm down 14lbs. I really like it and I can still eat things I love. I'm hoping to lose at least 20 lbs before I get pregnant.

I'm going to really enjoy this 3 day weekend. I'm soooo going to sleep in.

This Time Next Month

I'm hoping I'll either be getting my IUI done or in my 2WW period. This month has been going by really fast. Now I know the days up to it will go really slow. It's kinda scary but also exciting. I just hope it works. I have faith in God and know that if it's meant to be James and I will be parents. What a wonderful gift that would be for James on Father's Day. So please keep your fingers and toes crossed and us in your prayers. We will need every single one of them.

A Great Weekend

This turned out to be a great weekend but also a tiring weekend. We started Sat by going to a party to celabrate the adoption of Namoi to The Houstons. It was really nice. We all had a really good time and the kids had a blast. Austin even rode a horse. It was a hot day which kinda made the day evern longer. Right after the party Austin had a baseball game. It was mesrable because it was so hot!! Although they didn't win Austin hit it way out to center field...almost a home run...I was sooo happy for him. Then we went home and cleaned up a bit and hit the car races. We love going to see them. But I must say I hated the heat!! I think it drained us all. Sunday was a nice day. We went to b-day party for friend of ours. Their son turned 5. It's been a while since we have been to a little kids b-day party. A long full weekend. I'm soo not realy for the work week. Just a little about us

James and I have been together for almost 3 years now and married for 1 year. He is a wonderful husband and a awsome stepdad to my son Austin who is 12 years old. James is a welder/fabacator. I'm a Medical Assistant at a Cancer Center. I love my job. My son Austin is a great kid who just amazes me each and every day. He's in the 6th grade and pulling straight A's. I have to say that I'm one proud mom. We also have some 4 legged kids. Sassy is our fat cat. She just sleeps and eats all day long. Then we have Roxy, she's our female boxer. She's 2 years old and a great dog. I must say she can be a bit hyper. But we love she. Next we have Titan,he's our male boxer. He will be 1 yr. in Sept and he's our wild child. He get's into everything and loves to drive us nuts. But we love him floppy ears and all.

James and I were trying to have a baby for a long time when we got James's tested and found out he had a zero sperm count. It broke both of our hearts. So with a lot of thought and prayers we are going to do a IUI with a sperm donor in June. June is going to be our month. We both are getting very excited and can't wait.

Still Learning

I'm still learning how to use this thing. I'm sure before long I will be a wiz like everyone else. This month is going by so fast for me. I just hope it keeps going fast. I'm counting the days down to June. Both James and I are so happy and excited we can't wait.

I deciced to start a blog for those that don't have a myspace. I think this is kinda a neat site to use...I just have to learn to use it..lol. It may take me a while. I'll update more when I can figure it all out!!
